Welcome to Lancaster Engineering Academy--the campus with the greatest students in the metroplex!


Welcome to Ms. Johnson's music class! There are so many opportunities for students to learn and grow in the music room! In addition to general music classes for grades PreK4-5th, students in grades 3-5 have the opportunity to participate in special music ensembles such as the Tiger Choir (3-5), the Lancaster ISD Elementary Honor Choir (3-5), and Tiger Beats (5th grade Percussion Ensemble).Students will also have the opportunity to play various classroom instruments such as Orff (xylophones), keyboards, and recorders, and participate in school wide and PTA performances throughout the school year.

2017 STEM EXPO Project

Students embark on a STEM project using the Arts! Watch and learn about the Phases of the Moon.  Part 2 of the "Final Phase" will be posted after the STEM Expo on March 25th.

What's Happening in Music - March 20th-25th

  • Choir Rehearsal Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:30 am.
  • Group piano lessons begin Wednesday, March 22nd at 7:15 am.
  • Tiger Beats and Tiger Choir performance at the LISD STEM EXPO on Saturday, March 25th.
  • STEM EXPO students will have after school sessions Wednesday, and Thursday (March 22nd-23rd)

I Feel Good

STEAM lesson to use with James Brown, "I Feel Good" using Boomwhackers, Orff Instruments, quarter notes/rests, and paired eighth notes. Students also used form to determine how to follow the musical arrangement using terms for section A, B, D.C. al Coda, and Coda. This video is a snapshot of students learning section A, which is the main theme of the song.
