Lancaster ISD Receives 20 Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency
Lancaster, TX/ Lancaster ISD/ November 4, 2011– Destination excellence is becoming a reality for the Lancaster Independent School District as the Texas Education Agency just released the 2010-11 Gold Performance Acknowledgments (GPA).
Lancaster ISD is excited to announce that 100 percent of the rated campuses received at least one Gold Performance Acknowledgment. In all, the district received 20 Gold Performance Acknowledgments. Last year, the district received eight and the year before that, five.
Rolling Hills Elementary led the pack with a total of five Gold Performance Acknowledgments and Rosa Parks/Millbrook Elementary received four.
The Gold Performance Acknowledgments recognize districts and campuses for high academic performance on various indicators, such as Commended Performance on Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), college admissions tests, and Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate (AP/IB) examinations. There are 13 different categories in which a GPA can be earned at the district level and 15 different categories at the campus level.
Every campus in Lancaster has something to celebrate:
Belt Line Elementary – 1 GPA
Houston Elementary – 1 GPA
West Main Elementary – 2 GPAs
Pleasant Run Elementary – 2 GPAs
Lancaster Elementary – 2 GPAs
Rosa Parks/Millbrook – 4 GPAs
Rolling Hills Elementary – 5 GPAs
Lancaster Middle School – 1 GPA
Lancaster High School – 2 GPAs
